Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is the fifth book in the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling.
In this book, Voldemort has returned to the world in full power (he did that at the end of the fourth book, so I hope I didn’t spoil it for you). Harry Potter has a godfather now who he can hang around with (Sirius Black went into hiding at the end of the third book, so he couldn’t be around for much of the fourth book).
Now, you’re probably thinking, “How can J.K. Rowling possibly write three more books in the series (since there are supposed to be 7 years of schooling at Hogwarts) with Voldemort back?”
Here is how she did it.
I enjoyed the other Harry Potter books immensely, but in this book 1) Voldemort bides his time (for what purpose, I don’t know), 2) sends his minions after a prophecy (that I’m not sure why it has any importance at all), 3) Harry Potter gets tortured and whines a lot (although I would probably whine a lot if I was tortured), and 4) hangs around with a secret society called the Order of the Phoenix which just happens to contain all of the older wizards that Harry Potter normally associates with on a daily basis.
Oh, yeah, and 5) Sirius Black, who we hardly know because he has spent most of his life in jail and in hiding, gets killed, meaning that Harry has to go back and stay with mean muggles again for the summer.
J.K. Rowling could have printed up a 1 page leaflet explaining that Sirius Black died in a struggle with Voldemort’s minions going after some inconsequential prophecy, and we could all just move on to the sixth book (which, lucky for us, is good again).
That is seriously all that happens.
I’ve read some other reviews about this book, and only a couple of them have dared tell the truth, so I’d like to add my voice to theirs.
This book was really lame and not worth reading. Ask a friend what happened and then move on to the sixth book.
OotP is not one of my favourite books. It is too long and tedious, but the prophecy is important. Of course we know that now, maybe you did not know by 02/2007 when you wrote this entry. My favourite book is GOF, and I still have not figured out why so much people hate it. For me, it had a lot of action, romance, suspense.
